Neomics Research Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organisation focused on building credible evidence and knowledge for Northeast India. The name Neomics reflects our core idea — NE + Omics — connecting Northeast India with research, population evidence, healthcare research and public-interest knowledge.
We seek to generate, organise and translate reliable evidence that can support better research, informed policy, improved healthcare practice and more effective public-interest action across the Northeast.
Our Purpose
Northeast India has distinctive demographic, genetic, epidemiological, environmental and socio-economic characteristics. Yet evidence generated outside the region cannot always fully explain its specific realities.
Neomics seeks to strengthen the evidence base for the Northeast by supporting regionally relevant research, healthcare evidence and knowledge systems that can inform policy, practice and public-interest decision-making.
Why Northeast India?
Northeast India represents a distinctive research landscape shaped by its diverse populations, geography, environment, epidemiology and socio-economic conditions. These characteristics create important questions that require evidence generated from and relevant to the region.
Neomics aims to contribute to this evidence ecosystem by connecting regional research, healthcare evidence, population-level knowledge and credible data with researchers, institutions, policymakers and other stakeholders.
